Maximilian Contemporary is an art gallery in San Francisco promoting emerging and mid-career artists, with particular emphasis on artists from Mexico.

PROJECT: Logo design

Mixing clean, contemporary design with a traditional Aztec pattern suited the gallery’s focus on Mexican artists. The two arches of the “M” are symbolic of the serpent seen in Aztec art and glyphs. Framing the letterforms in a bold square represents the work inside the gallery, and the space itself.
